The Band Solstice is an indie-rock quintet from Knoxville, TN, blending folk-rock roots with modern indie energy. Formed in 2019 by five lifelong friends: Marty Gee, Grayson Strader, Jackson Frazier, Maddox Frazier, and Jacob Greene, their sound draws inspiration from Kings of Leon, Dawes, Mt. Joy, and Coldplay, channeling the nostalgia of shared memories into every song. Their debut single, “Stay Awhile” (2022), marked the beginning of a steady stream of releases, earning them a growing fan base. In 2024, they launched their first tour, The Mile Dive Tour, and have been regularly touring over 20 cities and 9 states since. That same year, they achieved a major milestone by selling out their first headline show.
"Solstice’s set was filled with the kind of adrenaline that could make you feel breathless simply from listening."
— Arnashia Gray, The Daily Beacon
In addition to their own headlining performances, they have also had the opportunity to open for several notable artists, sharing the stage with Quinn XCII, Sun Room, Illiterate Light, and Your Neighbors, among others. These opening slots not only expanded their audience but also reinforced their ability to hold their own alongside established acts. As their popularity grew, The Band Solstice began receiving industry recognition. Their single “Mile Dive” was featured on Spotify’s curated playlist Fresh Finds Indie, marking their first major playlist placement. This exposure introduced them to a wider audience and solidified their presence in the indie-rock landscape.
